Portland Farmers Market

Concept:

Portland Farmers Market (PFM) had the immediate need of being able to change their home page content on a regular basis, and updating the home page design.

Problem:

Old version of site was disorganized and difficult to navigate. The old design was dated and not very inviting. The new farmers market season was just beginning so they needed the home page of the site done quickly.

Solution:

This project was tackled in the Art Institute of Portland's annual Web Raising. This is where a group of students come together to build a website in a day. I was the tech lead for this project, and we were able to give the home page a fresh new look that is better organized. From a technical standpoint we ran into limitations with their hosting service and were unable to install the CMS Concrete5, so we ended up using CushyCMS. This turned out to be a better solution, because CushyCMS can easily be added to other already exiting pages while they get the rest of their site redesigned.
